SEONGWOO MOON
Korean pianist Seongwoo Moon is gaining international recognition through major competition appearances and performances with leading orchestras. Most recently, he was a participant in the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition. He is also a prizewinner of both the Hilton Head International Piano Competition and Seoul International Music Competition.
In 2023, he won the New England Conservatory Concerto Competition, leading to his debut with the NEC Symphony Orchestra at Boston’s historic Jordan Hall. As a concerto soloist, he has appeared with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra, Seongnam Philharmonic Orchestra, and Pohang Philharmonic Orchestra, performing works by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, and Beethoven. In addition to his solo career, he regularly collaborates with distinguished instrumentalists in recital performances throughout the United States and Korea.
Moon has participated in masterclasses with distinguished pianists including Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Nelson Delle-Vigne Fabbri, Philip Jenkins, Rudolf Meister, and Pascal Rogé. He is currently pursuing a Graduate Diploma under the guidance of Minsoo Sohn at the New England Conservatory, where he also earned his Master of Music degree. He previously completed his Bachelor of Music degree at Seoul National University, studying with Heesung Joo.
