SEONGHUN JEONG
Seonghun Jeong is an award-winning artist celebrated for his natural expressiveness and unparalleled emotional impact through tone and harmony. He recently gained international acclaim as the First Prize winner and recipient of the Special Prize for Best Performance of a Contemporary Work at the American International Paderewski Piano Competition. Following this prestigious achievement, he is scheduled to perform a series of concerts across the United States and Poland.
Jeong’s competitive achievements are highlighted by top honors in numerous prestigious competitions, including the Seattle International Piano Competition, Weatherford International Piano Competition, The Rosamond P. Haeberle Memorial Piano Award and Dora Dawson Music Award in Ann Arbor, the Korea Liszt Association Competition, the Music Chunchoo Piano Competition, and the Nanpa Piano Competition. His record of success further includes the Concerto Competition at SMU Meadows School of the Arts, and an Honorable Mention at the Wideman International Piano Competition.
Beyond his solo pursuits, Jeong is also an accomplished chamber musician. His versatility is showcased through collaborations with numerous instrumentalists across the United States, South Korea, and Japan, including piano chamber master class with Wu Han and winning the Meadows Chamber Honors Concerts. His artistry—spanning both solo and chamber performances—has been heard at leading venues such as Steinway Hall, Yamaha Hall, the Seoul Arts Center, Lotte Concert Hall, and Kumho Art Hall.
Jeong earned his Bachelor of Music from Yonsei University under Dr. Yung-ran Han and subsequently completed an Artist’s Diploma at SMU Meadows School of the Arts under the guidance of Dr. Carol Leone. He is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Piano Performance at the University of Michigan under the tutelage of Dr. Logan Skelton.
